Choices and Tradeoffs: IGT “Think” Phase
Imagine Greater Tucson Workshop
Let us know how YOU think Tucson should grow > survey.imaginegreatertucson.org
Imagine Greater Tucson (IGT) is a community-based effort dedicated to protecting and enhancing our quality of life in the greater Tucson region. IGT’s goal is to involve the people in the Greater Tucson Region in creating a shared vision for our region’s future, and develop strategies to realize this vision.
Beginning January 2012, IGT will engage 10,000 residents in the Greater Tucson Region in a conversation about how the land use choices we make for the future will impact our quality of life.
Building directly on the work of more than 600 participants in this summer’s Scenario Building Workshops, the presentation and workshop participants will share their views on a preferred future for the Greater Tucson Region, how it should grow/develop and what is important to consider regarding land use in the future. The information gathered will be used to develop a single scenario of how we’d prefer the region to develop in the future.
This two-hour workshop consists of large activities using keypad polling technology as well as conventional small group dialogues and exercises. Participants will:
- Share views on a preferred future for the Greater Tucson Region, how it should grow and what is important to consider regarding growth;
- Consider four possible scenarios for future growth; and
- Dialogue with other participants regarding the opportunities and challenges of land use in our future.
Refreshments will be provided by Living Streets Alliance. If you plan on attending, please let us know!
